Who we are

Vida Financial Group Inc. ("we", "us") is a financial planning firm located at 1 High Meadow Pl., Unit 8, 2nd Floor, North York, Ontario M9L 2Z5. This policy applies to this website and to the personal information we handle when you contact us or work with us. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to us.

What we collect

  • Contact details and messages, such as your name, email, phone number and whatever you choose to tell us when you call, email or book a meeting.
  • Booking details, such as the meeting type and time you choose and the details you enter on our booking page.
  • Client information that we need to provide advice and services, such as your financial, employment, family or health information. We collect this with your consent as we work together.
  • Technical information, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you request, which our hosting provider records in order to run and secure the website.

The calculators on this website run in your browser. We do not receive the numbers you enter. Some of your answers may be saved in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off; clearing your browser data removes them.

How we use it

  • To reply to you and schedule and hold meetings.
  • To provide the financial planning, insurance and investment services you ask for.
  • To meet our legal, regulatory, record-keeping and compliance obligations.
  • To run, secure and improve this website.
  • To send you updates or marketing, only where you have agreed or the law otherwise allows. You can unsubscribe at any time.

We do not sell your personal information.

Consent

By giving us your information, you consent to its use for the purposes explained when we collect it. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you do, we will tell you how that affects the services we can provide.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Insurers, dealers, managing general agencies and other financial institutions involved in the products and services you choose to pursue.
  • Other professionals, such as your accountant or lawyer, when you ask us to.
  • Service providers who help us run our business, including Microsoft (email), Zoho (booking and client records) and Vercel (website hosting). They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
  • Regulators, auditors and authorities, where the law requires or permits it.

Where it is stored

Our service providers may store or process information outside your province or outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it may be subject to the laws of that place and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add them, we will update this policy first. Our booking page and social media pages are run by other companies, which may use their own cookies under their own privacy policies.

How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, electronic and administrative safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and ordinary email in particular is not. Please do not email sensitive details such as your Social Insurance Number, banking details or health information. Call us and we will arrange a safer way to share them.

If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as long as legal and regulatory record-keeping rules require. We then securely delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or shared, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual limits. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children online.
