Calculators

Run the numbers, then talk them through.

Simple, private calculators built on 2026 Canadian rules. Nothing you enter leaves your device unless you ask us to send you the results.

TFSA or RRSP? See which leaves you more

Both grow tax-sheltered. The difference is when you pay tax: on the way in (TFSA) or on the way out (RRSP). Your tax rate now versus later decides it.

Your numbers

Include CPP, OAS, pensions and other withdrawals, in today's dollars.

The RRSP gets this full amount. The TFSA gets what is left after tax.

After-tax value over time

Tax rates are combined federal and Ontario marginal rates. The RRSP comparison assumes you save the full pre-tax amount (the refund makes up the difference) and withdraw it all at your retirement marginal rate. Real life adds wrinkles: OAS clawback, pension income splitting, and how withdrawals are spread out. That is where a conversation helps.

For illustration only. These estimates use 2026 Ontario and federal figures and the assumptions shown. They are not financial, tax or insurance advice, and returns are not guaranteed. Speak with an advisor before making decisions.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
